I know.

You're probably thinking 2 things. 1) where the hell you been JeJa?! 2) How was Buffalo Fashion Weekend?

Well to say the least it was a great first attempt. Mercedes Benz had everything from cash bar, vip seating, goodie bags, sponsors stations & appetizers. The turnout was surprising with almost every single seat filled. I will say that I was not very impressed with the selection of designs chosen for the show. Among the participants were Banana Republic, Cache', White House | Black Market, Ann Taylor and Lu Modern Classics, to name a few. The Banana Republic mens wear collection is something fierce with sharp slacks, varied textures including stain and velvet, subtle prints and various pieces you can mix and match for business or casual wear. Most of the women's collections had signature styles for the office. Ann Taylor by far stole the show with amazing cardigans, daring skirts and knock out blouses.

Suggestions for next year: GIVE ME A SHORTER SHOW! The first half of the show was 2 hours long and the intermission was at 1/2 an hour long. Not true to NYC Fashion week at all.

I look forward to seeing more of Mercedes Benz sponsorship in Buffalo for other Fashion weekends. Don't sleep on Buffalo people. Its slowly but surely on the rise.

NYC Fashion Week!!!

Ok,

So the 1st of 4 fashion orgasms, yes the # went up and I will explain shortly, is an hr away from commencing! That's right folks Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC is kicking off tomorrow September 10, 2009. Nothing but 7 straight days of fashion bliss, enough to make us all want the spring to get here so we can cop those 2010 duds. What's on the agenda? Starting tomorrow we have:

4 more days till the season starts

Nooooo,

Not talking about football or any other sport. I'm talking about the highly anticipated Cuffing season. What exactly is cuffing season? According to Websters (and trust me one day the word cuffing will be in there) Cuffing is the action between a man & a woman where there is a lot of lovey dovey, sexing, relationship type actions. Please note you do not have to actually be IN a relationship to cuff. The season starts Labor Day and ends around April Fools day. If you live in Miami or Cali Cuffing Season doesn't exist there. Yes, this sport is EXTREMELY dependent on the weather. In fact as the weather gets colder Cuffing increases in popularity. Conversly as the weather gets warmer the cuffing decreases DRAMATICALLY. See folks, warmer weather + less articles of clothing x more people outside = increased curiosity.

So folks please enjoy your weekend. Have SAFE one night stands, make out in dark corners etc. Before you know it you'll be cuffed.

Last night after a very thorough conversation with a good friend of mine (and yes for 10 minutes we dwelled on how 'men aint shit') I began thinking of the power women actually have over men.

Although seen as the inferior sex we actually control a lot of the world. Mens shopping habits, for example, are controlled by women. Oh you thought you purchased that $300 outfit, $450,000 car and $200 bottle of cologne to make yourself feel better? Ehhh, ok 2% of that decision was to prove you have bigger balls than the next man. The other 98% was most definitely to get women aka to get into her pants.

As human beings were are predisposed to make our exterior more appealing for mating purposes. So I understand.

But the next time a man thinks of a woman as inferior think about how she conned you into a shopping spree. The power of the p-u-s-s-y...

What a long day! Definitely enjoyed my day off. My room FINALLY looks like a room as opposed to a homeless shelter. Pictures to post soon! Today I was pondering alter ego careers. Drug dealing and stripping were my top 2 choices. Drug dealing fascinates me because those involved never think they can get caught. Everyone reaches their prime and then bam! Off they go. Death or jail, which really aren't that different from each other. To deal drugs you have to be fearless and heartless. A robot. The same can apply to stripping. You're body is your talent and so the more a client wants the more they pay and the more you give. Your conscience ceases to exist and you can't take anything personal, its business. The biggest worry would be getting kidnapped by some psycho serial killer. Or becoming a drug addict. With either profession you must be willing to disconnect yourself from the situations you will face. Put your game face on and make that money. Even though its really making you.

Goooood morning!

Let me begin by giving you all a brief recap of the past 2 rockstar days. Thursday- lil waynes after party @ Scarlett. It all began in some hidden alley with a dj who didn't know about reggae, white guys named Adam calling me Eve and sex on the beaches the size of a super sized drink. End result: smacked! It was def a memorable trip to virginia. Friday- working off of 3 hrs of sleep, worked an 8hr day I proceeded to go to the movies. Film of choice was THE Final Destination. Lemme just say that 3d no I mean REAL d makes movie watching feel like an orgasm. I give 2 1/2 stars. Seeing that did inspire me to take full advantage of every day. Yup. Right after the movie headed home 2 prep 4 a fab night! On a scale from 1 to 10 last night was a 25. End result: Had a great time! Saw great ppl. Had GREAT drinks lol. Tonight? Oh yes, pt 3 in full effect.

Just when I thought this gloomy day would bring me nothing but rain & clouds it showered me with some more fashion goodies! In addition to NY Fashion Week (9/10-9/17) coming up, I have 2 more fashion treats to endulge in. You should too! 1) Toronto Fashion Week (10/19-10/23). 2) Mass Appeal (11/6). Another long day. Today showed me two. One, that I need to fix my glasses asap. My eye sight is going. Two, everyone has their own story. Like film genres in various languages we all show something different. Othello with Lawrence Fishburn doesn't tell the same story as Othello with Julia Stiles. Do you have to like both? Nah. Understand both? Hardly. But you should respect each story as it was intended to be told.

5 months already?!

El Diablo!


I havent blogged in 5 whole months?! Shame shame shame on me. The Blog Gods are probably excommunicating me from ever blogging again. Well I'm turning over a new leaf. With Autumn steady on its way there is so much to look forward to. Freshman back on college campuses, steady awaiting the taste of their 1st beer, hit of their 1st blunt, lost virginities etc. We also have the sad farewell of the summer heat, although in Buffalo this wasn't much of a summer at all. We can't forget FASHION WEEK (9/10-9/17)! All in all I am looking forward to this much dreaded season.


What to look forward to: 1) More frequent updates on all things FAST! So cars, men, fashion, food, art... 2) random thoughts I have throughout the week. 3) live updates from me as I continue this crazy thing called the job hunt after graduation (laughter from crowd).

All in all this season I'm just looking to paint the picture of my world with every color each day brings me.

What the heck is up? I'm straight slacking right now. No like seriously. Haven't posted since April 1st?! Unacceptable. Well let me redeem myself by saying I hope you all had a fabulous Easter filled with puffy pastel colored dresses, frilly socks, lots of candy and an egg or two. The countdown has begun folks! Yes, RUNWAY.20 is just 2 weeks away!!! (www.runway2.org). This show is going to be pretty freakin' orgasmic if I do say so myself. I mean first of all, its in the new Burchfield Penny Art Center. You'd have to be living under a rock if you're in Buffalo and have yet to see this fabo place. The building breathes and glows art. Its the shit, if I do say so myself. Then you have people like Laura Hoffman and Adam Lippes (yes, if you're peeing on your self its totally acceptable). Not to mention New Era, Student Designers, Buff State Alum AND local designers. You can't freakin' go wrong! So feel free to use runway 2.0 as an inspiration to count down the days of this not so sunny spring.

I'm @ krud, interning my life away. Actually this intern life is pretty sweet. Good music, food, convo, and clothes. You can't go wrong. As we speak I'm eating a SLAMMIN' greek salad from Falafel bar. Other than that, weathers fucking awesome, in a good mood considering I missed 1 class and did not do my hw for another. These ladies took what started off as a screen printing business into a whole new world of fashion, glamour & urban couture. Quite the ambitious duo, Sule & Yoshi have managed to take the College scene by storm with their unique take on dresses (check out Tiffany in the tutu piece!) to jeans and tops (Maddy last to your right in the deep orange!). Best described, Diamond Kutz is urban, chic, edgy, bold and willing to take it to the next level all in good taste.

Having been featured in local fashion shows such as UB's Black Explosion & the Fashion Students Association "Rebirth of Fashion" these ladies show no signs of slowing down. Recently, they were seen at BET's 106 & Park. Diamond Kutz went in promoting all their fabulous fashions.

This line is soon to be bigger than a five carat engagement ring.

Full size bed in the sala?!

Yes, its 1:46 a.m. and I'm writing. 1) HAPPY BDAY JESS!! *thats my roomie* 2) Theres a full size bed in my living room. Like an actual bed with sheets, quilt and pillow. I can't help but wonder that the bed Gods have come to save me from my twin size hell that makes noise at the mere moment I yawn. Sadly, this bed is not a gift, shit it doesnt even belong to any one who lives here. Jess's friends came to visit for ONE night and came equipped with this beauty (see attached photo). At this point I can't help but wonder why my friends never bring me a nice full size bed when they sleep over? Ha, they barely bring towels. Ok, nighty-night folks.... off to watch Golden Girls and sleep :)

Good morning!!!!

As I sit in FTT 452 class, next to Cheri and we're chatting away, looking at E ramble about our super fabulous show coming up in April I begin my usual a.m. facebook stalk session.

I come across my Broski's page. Aside from the insane amount of groupies writing on his wall I noticed something else....

The thought process went as follows: "Aww my Broski changed his picture ---> awww his baby picture ---> wait, why does he have a mini fro?!" As you can also tell he has his left hand raised looking like he's Diddy bopping (ps, he does that same move today).

Working off of zero hours of sleep and no food, this picture made me smile to say the very least. Here's to you Broski (oh, and thank God you don't have that fro anymore!)

Re-birth!

Like Usher says in that one song.... It's been a loooooong time! But I'm back America... To re-enstate this rebirth I have a story for ya:

Three young lads, full of life, spunk and enough wit to grant them their own reality show airing walk into Krudmart (www.krudmart.com) looking for t-shirts. The occasion? The prom. As E and I sit back and watch the boys like we watch t.v. nostalgia returns to me. Oh, the days of prom, acne, braces, first dates, and secret sleep overs that were really spent with the current beau and not at Stacy's house. Being the nosey fashionistas we are, we extended ourselves to be their prom dates. Yes, their high school prom dates. Shit, we are still cool enough to hang with the youth! Well none the less, Spanx, Tim and David made my day. Aside from buying shirts and making me laugh, they provided an insightful opinion about the Lexington Co-op's "Tings" snacks: "I am NEVER eating cheetos again, ever!"
It's good to be back friends... it's good to be back...
